The book starts with the heroine, her sister and sister's boyfriend going on holiday in Canada.
They hirer a motor home and plan to travel the Rockies.
The heroine goes for a walk in the dark and climbs into the wrong home. She doesn't realise this till the next morning when she wakes up, miles away from her sister. She has to stay with the hero till they meet up again.
They arrive at a Lake where she falls in and gets ill. The hero is a doctor and takes care of her.
While she is ill the doctor finds her covered in scars. She explains that she got them after being in a road accident.
When they finally meet up with her sister it's time to go back to England and her job as receptionist at her dad's surgery.
Finally the hero is the new doctor at the practice.
